Of late, China has asserted its strength for world domination. Asian side of the hemisphere, the South Seas need no demarcation.
In my own Metropolis, sigh, I am beginning to believe I am the alien one. Gosh, now I know why Americans are adamant to rid off the immigrants. They feel insulted they can't understand, let alone speak another language. The English seems to lack aptitude in linguistics. Sorry.
Oh well, the situation requires concern but the aging me tends to dismiss this, too, shall pass.
After all, I am amused at the Chinese, how they try to act normal as they walk across the Ped Xing, with not a clue why the 4 by 4's are not stopping. Realizing the road rules, they pretend to know and avoid gazing at the locals.
The Chinese will be Chinese, as Confucius was, and confused the world. Nah. I like Confucius. And maybe the trader Li Ma Hong, too. They just wanedt to live lives, as we do.
Yesterday, I watched The Wolf Totem, the story of a Han student compelled by Mao Tse Tung's Cultural Revolution of '67 to live and learn in the land of the Mongols.
Nope, the Mongols were not the enemies, The enemies were vicious - the wolves.
This Han student was beheld by the land and the terrains of Mongolia, for the panoramic calm the horizon bestowed in one's soul, despite the terror the wolf pack threatened on the peasants' lives.
Without a thought, this Han cared for a wolf cub, much against the belief and the way of life of the Mongols. When caught, he justified his action by the Chairman Mao's edict: Know your enemy. If you know the ways of the wolf, you could subdue the terror the pack brings.
As it happened, strange occurrences befell the land, lives lost, and the sheep endangered. Eventually, the Han had to let go of his Little Wolf, now fully grown and a warrior in need of a Wolf's honor. Eventually, the Han had to go back and resume his studies. Not without engraving the wolf's totem in his being.
What is the point in all this? Oh that - know your enemy. When you do, you will let go. The enemy is just as hungry for a life. Like you and me.

There's news of the "trade wars" easing off. China is reported to plan on buying produce from US which is one good sign they think amidst the tensions.

Alas, fighting is really the way of the world. Man has even come up with such things as declaration of war and rules of engagement.
Fighting necessitates skills, yes.

@lookatdesktop You have a point. We can influence them to change. However, if some people refused to change, then we need to stay away from them intentionally. So that we can prevent the clash or disagreement.

We should be ready, willing and able to fight when it is necessary to fight. Know your enemies. Keep them closer. First know your enemies. If you learn later that who you thought was an enemy but was not actually the adversary and in no way represented a threat to you or your country, keep watch over them and if possible teach them to be kind, respectful of your way of life and maybe one day the enemy will become the friend.

Makes me remember the wisdom of my favorite cartoon rabbit Bugs Bunny he said it best
Most of the people in the world just imagine everyone to be enemies because they consider themselves to be above the rest but we are all pretty much equal and if we could see that the world would be a much better place.

Thank you. This is a breather. Grew up with Looney Tunes, too. Yes, I love Bugs.

There are no real enemies more great than the ignorance of those who only look at the world through the eyes of confusion and accept nothing that is imagined but hold on to that which is transient and within ones' own reach.

I agree. In my estimation, there are 7.5 billion ignoramuses roaming the planet. Selfish creatures, really. And they call themselves humans. Uh Oh.
