Another Injury

It's been a while since I posted about my favorite hockey team, mostly cause there really hasn't been anything to say. The Chicago Blackhawks have been just terrible this season. They were a team other teams feared to play just a few years ago but then two seasons ago they lost four games in a row in the playoffs and then last year they didn't even make the playoffs. This was the first time in 11 years they didn't make the playoffs. This year started off with the first 5 games going to over-time, a league record. Then it all started going down hill from there. Twice this year they have lost 7 or more games in a row. They have played terrible, with many dumb mistakes, they have traded away good players for others that have just not proved to be any good. We fired the 2nd most winning coach in the league history and yet we keep losing. Last year their starting goalie (Corey Crawford), at one time one of the best goalies in the league, was knocked out of the season with a concussion. He had missed 47 games due to this injury and he also missed the first 5 games of this season. He came back and was still good but no where near where he once was. Then two nights ago he got hurt again and they pulled him out of the game. He hit his head again and at first I was hopeful but today they announce that it is another concussion. I love the team and wish he could get back and be the goalie he once was but two concussions in less than a year. I hope he get well soon but I hope he seriously thinks about retiring. He is 34 years old and will be 35 on December 31st. He only has one year left on his contract, but he needs to put his long term health first over his continued career. Get well Corey, take care of yourself.

I totally feel your pain..My fave team the Was Redskins, must be the most injury prone team in the league..it has taken out not one by two QB's plus their best receiver. What was a promising season, has mostly turned to crap..I can't believe people are still talking about them, and the playoffs in one breath. Oh well, this week will probably kill that talk once and for all.
