Lately

Lately I've applied to several places seeking employment. Lately I've applied with a temp agency to help me find work. Lately I've been getting nervous / anxious because this whole process always stresses me out. Lately I've been lazier than usual because of it. I just want "lately" to become "finally" so that the anxiety of it can go away.

I do too wish that anxiety would lift but naturally it is a tense time I can understand waiting for all these places to get back to you, they are never good at that.

No, they certainly aren't. What gets me is some places you have to keep onto them "I want to work there! I want to work there!" and others, if you do that, they don't want to hire you.

@Courage7 Yes, it makes me want to scream "be transparent!" Also, please don't get me started on jobs that require a group interview. I hate those! I get so nervous.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I know it is really a nuisance that places are not commonly courteous.

You are being productive about it - I am certain that "lately" will become "finally" in time - but I know . . . it's that time in between that feels like the longest. Still keeping my fingers (or was it toes ) crossed for you.

Thank You! I know I can find something and I know it will all be okay in the end. It's just all of this "What if" in between that gets to me. I can't help but want it all to be over with - yesterday.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Oh yah - those what ifs are another thing! All these things are steps to get to where you want/need to go . . . you'll get there .

I understand your frustration. You seem to be going about seeking employment in a positive way. Your break will come soon. 2019 will be your year

I once had a job interview at a call center. I have about 10 years of call center experience. The guy told me that he couldn't hire me because I "haven't worked anywhere in a year." I replied "Well, yes, that's why I'm applying for a job." Good luck.

Yes, honestly, that's what I find so frustrating. The longer you are out of work, the harder it is to find work.

I think taking a break from all of these will help you out, Amber.

I've taken too long of a break / long enough of a break. I do know what you mean though, and I'll take time to just relax and not let anything stress me.

I wish you luck, I really do. It would seem like the holidays would be a good opportunity to find a job.

I hope you hear something. FYI, you could try Lionbridge if it doesn't work out..They finally sent instructions to me so I should be able to start. However, I heard people complaining on FB that they were dismissed for production quality or something..so apparently, they fire alot. Oh well, worth a shot.

I have lion bridge up on my tabs. I've had it on for awhile, but I'm not so sure if it's right for me. I've also considered printing out a "will do yard work" thing and putting it in our neighborhood's information center.
