I hope you can make out the Christmas tree in this home made decoration. It was a gift to me more than thirty five years ago. A little girl whom I taught in Wednesday night church made it from a tuna can, with the help of her mother, I am sure. I have it on a bed of pine cones this year.
There is a tiny tree, and some cotton for snow, and two plastic fawns. It is fit inside the tuna can, with red and white ribbon around it and a piece of red yarn to hang it.
The young lady who made it is now a teacher. She is the same age as my son.
Do you have any old ornaments.

I have some old ornaments from my Mom which have special meaning to me. I also have a collection of ornaments from places I've visited or stores I go to during Christmas season. I try to buy one each year. Some go back quite some time now...

I do not know even where all my ornaments are. My old house was much bigger and we had big trees and displays. Somewhere I have a collection of stars, based on a Finlander custom of having "stars in the heavens". Hubby is of Finlander descent.

@dgobucks226 They are in a box somewhere. I also had large heavy glass balls that I had hanging out year round. I just located another box recently, and they could be there.

No, this would not be worth much if sold, but the memories are worth everything.

I know, it is not a great shot and the fawns are less than an inch tall.

That's really cute! Our oldest ornaments are two that our son got from a relative when he was a baby.

I still have tons of stuff boxed away. Maybe next year I can do it up big. Precious gifts from elderly acquaintances sound like real keepsakes.
