The image is from when Bob was waiting for blood to be delivered for his transfusion.
We have had lab today, and gotten the blood count phoned to us already.
According to Bob's sister, the nurse, each unit of blood, by itself, raises the hemoglobin a little less than one point. So, starting at 7.5, receiving 2 units, he should have been expected to have a reading just a little lower than 9.
His blood count this morning was 10.5, which is very good results. It means that the blood did its job and possibly he is not bleeding anywhere else. And he has been eating the right foods the last two days.
Maybe the blood he received has a good clotting factor.
Anyway, we are pleased. And we will get to travel for Christmas.

It feels good that someone is actually taking this seriously and is not just doing "wait and see". He has a happier attitude.

He has some internal bleeding. Most of it in his bladder. We have made four trips to emergency rooms since August. We recently changed doctors and I think that will make a huge difference. I know that crafts people get really busy at gift giving time.

That is great news. I do know some foods thin the blood as my dad could not eat them after he was put on blood thinner.

Usually when a person goes on blood thinners they are restricted from foods that increase clotting. Dark leafy greens and broccoli to name a couple. So, if you bleed too much, eat spinach.
