Holiday Sweets are my Weakness!

Well, it's already December 21st. Most companies and social clubs have already had their Christmas parties. I've been to a couple. The food....oh YUM!!
Tonight for my bowling league, we are all supposed to bring food. It's not really a party, but the goodies will be sitting out for us to serve ourselves all evening, while we bowl.
I lost 5 pounds this past year and I want to lose more. But these holiday treats are such a temptation for me! I like it all, but the sweets are my main weakness. Cookies, fudge, homemade candy, caramel popcorn, chocolate covered pretzels, etc.
Confession: I love fruitcake. Don't tell anyone. 
We are having our family holiday meal on Christmas eve. I just hope I don't gain all 5 pounds back before January 1!
Do any of you tend to over-indulge on treats during the holidays? If so, what foods are your favorites?

I agree about the fruitcake. I don't know why it has become the holiday food/gift that people love to hate.

@BloggerDi That is the way to do it. If you are craving something special and you keep eating other things to get rid of that urge, you will continue to want it and eat more things in the mean time. Eat the urge and get it out of your system. When I was dieting I would take a spoonful of my craving and I would be okay. I lost over 50 pounds dieting that way.

Thanks @ramapo17. I agree. I do justify enjoying some treats I don't normally have, but I just need to eat a little of each.

Like you I struggle with eating many sweets during the holiday season. Having snacks for company to nibble on leaves many tempting leftovers for me to indulge in, lol.

ANY sweets are my weakness but I must really cut them out. I'm approaching a weight which could be hazardous to my health!
