About one o'clock this afternoon the hubby and I took his sister to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things. It was supposed to be a quick stop. Well, I am here to tell you it wasn't. The store seemed to be filled with wall-to-wall people. It was unbelievably hard to get down an aisle without having someone bump you, and as far as being able to look at the merchandise, forget about it. It made me wonder for a second if they were giving away free merchandise. Of course they weren't. It all made me wonder, if it is so crowded four days before Christmas, what in the world will it be like on Christmas Eve. Are you store packed with people?

You and me both. I won't go back into a store until after the new year begins.

Here, every time there is a holiday for even just a few days, people shop as though they won't be able to buy food for weeks.

@HazySue They seem paranoid about running out of something.

@JudyEv I guess so but how could it become such a big deal. Just substitute with something else.

I wonder why that is. I buy what I need to and save money by not buying out the store.

The stores here are not crowded, less than in the past years. It seems that finally people have stopped thinking to Christmas only as a buy as much as you can celebration.

@HazySue They imposed too much the fact that you must buy, finally people got tired and we came back to our more relaxed habits. This year looked a lot more like the Christmas I remember of 20 years ago.

I wish that would happen here. It may not be good for the economy but it would be great for the nerves.

I usually stay as far away from the stores as I can this time of year. I know next year I won't repeat the mistake of going inside.

It's also why I stay home too. That is, unless I can not avoid it like this time.

Yikes. I avoid the stores this time of year although I"ll need to go grocery shopping on Christmas Eve. Which will be gross.

I usually avoid the stores too but my sister-in-law needed a ride so I went on in with her. I think I will stay in the car next time.

I did have to go into Walmart today for just a couple of things, but thankfully, it wasn't so bad. I truly pray I don't have to go back anymore until after Christmas.

The picture shows a lot of people and people buy a lot. Is it a sign that people have a lot of money?

I don't know. I hear it is a sign that people are spending a lot of money by using their credit cards.
