Cleanest it's been in...?

Photo I took of the area I cleaned where the new toaster oven is going to go

...so long ago I'm embarrassed to say I don't remember. But, given how the last couple years of my life have been, cleaning the kitchen counter was the last thing on my mind. One of the reasons for it, though (aside from the fact that it needed it badly) was that I need to figure out a space for one of my Christmas presents--a new toaster oven. The one I had "died" at least a year ago if not a little longer, and when my brother said, "What do you want for Christmas--and I don't do clothes." (or to that effect--not that I need clothes anyway). ...after some thought I told him I wanted a new toaster oven. So, Christmas morning that's one of the things I got. The tag said it was from my nephews, but I know who paid for it. Before I put it in it's "spot" though, I definitely wanted to clean the counter--so I took off the dish rack, the little containers with "stuff" in them (tacks, paper clips, whatever), the blender, the containers with flour, sugar, coffee and tea in them (not really what was in all of them, but that's what the canisters said on the front), and the vitamin/medicine containers/bottles. Then I sprayed the counter down with Lysol and wound up cleaning some stuff off the walls above the back splash -- coffee that that splashed or whatever, cobwebs on the bottoms of the upper cabinets --so, like I said, it's cleaner than it's been in a while ! Now I'm letting the counter dry off a bit before I break out the new toaster oven, which I'm thinking of putting in the far left corner. The blender was "living" there, but there's a double plug there, so it can probably move "next door" to the toaster oven. I'm thinking that this toaster oven is bigger than the last one I had, so I'll see how it works out. Some things may have to be moved down the counter a couple of notches. Yes, I know--my kitchen's "outdated" (hearing someone on House Hunters or one of those shows saying that). My Dad redid it back in 1981 or some such, and it works just fine still. We've had to have a couple of appliances replaced since then, but so far it's still working fine. House Hunter snobs will just have to stay away.
