I have veered away from the news, too. The past two years have promoted, far as my country is concerned, foul and indecent language. Like Francis of Assisi, I did find my self communicating not just with my dog, with the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees, too. That means also that I am not privy, for a time, to viral news. That is why I only had a glimpse of the bullying news that came out on a local network. Upon google search, I discovered the clip was deleted, because of the violence in nature. I would like to believe that it was deleted to protect the victim, because he does not deserve to be branded a poster boy in this drama. I was shocked, however, when I learned that many in the social comments were asking for kindness for the bully boy and his family. Tsk tsk. I feel bad already that the administration at the Jesuit school has requested not to put the video in the newsfeed. Now, an effort by the wealthy bluebloods to mislead by asking for kindness towards the family of the bully boy. NO. For equality and justice, speak the truth and twist not the facts. Concealing the filth of the wealthy means condoning with their sinister minds,. If this was a not so rich a family, meaning poor, the bully boy and his family would have been crucified by now.

In my country there is a lot of violence against women and children, and often they do not end up in prison, but ultimately kill the victim.

We have come to realize your plight. Honestly, it is still mind-boggling for me that an entire nation, like Syria, or yours, or Yemen, and many others, are subjected to inhumane treatment. How to right wrongs, I do not know how to do that, and as time goes, more suffer, and even more perish without even living life as life should be. I have seen of diaspora. and people live good lives in other places, at least when the age of violence has come to pass. Would you consider such?

@Nevena83 True. Evil is a formidable enemy. In order to defeat evil, I do two good deeds to every bad that I see. I pray lengthily, often repetitive prayers. They say that if the mind wills it, sure it will happen. Do not give up. Good will win in the end.

It is time we all stand up to bullying and let the world know that we will not tolerate it any longer. And we must also stop the lies and hatred and filth that is posted on social media. We need to do better as a society.

In total agreement with you. Gosh, humans are so difficult to contend with. These creatures defy the true, the good, and the beautiful. Can't believe I belong to that human race. Believe it, sometimes, I would love it to just soar with the eagle and run with the deer.

@eileenleyva Believe me, there's not a day that goes by that I wish I could check out of this crazy world and go live off the grid in some remote mountain cabin where I didn't have to deal with people anymore.

@moffittjc I am also almost confined to my lonesome. People could really be so nuts. Still, except for accidental castaway, no man is an island. To remove the negativity from my mind, I walk in a gauntlet of trees, and they pepper me with love bullets. I think the Japanese do that, too, that's why they remain calm amidst storms and gigantic tsunamis. Jeff, find life and love and goodness in the pure and in the wonder of beautiful things: a flicker in the sky, a flutter of a wing, a smile of a child, a cry of a babe. That cabin experience is a good idea. It is also once my dream to try hermitage, like Benedict of Nursia. Oh well, I have grown old and am satisfied with my own tiny paradise. Do live on. Never give up on people. Avoid those who vex the spirit. Be kind to those who need you.

Bullying is an attention-seeking disorder. The bullies need psychological help.

@ilocosboy Sigh. Cabalen used to offer good food. But that was almost two decades ago. I expected them to have leveled up, not diminished by Kamayan and Dad's and Vikings.

Just yesterday, I had lunch at Cabalen with my daughter, and I complained about the quality of food. The manager, Maryanne told me that Cabalen is for the B and C crowd, that is why kare-kare is the mix concoction you get to buy in the carenderia. Imagine, you pay a sum for carenderia food! Disgusting, ain't it? Thant's how we are bullied by these businessmen, too. Not that I abhor carenderia food, in fact, on days I am alone and lazy enough to cook for myself, I bring food keepers to the carenderia and stock up my fridge with laing, lumpia, menudo, humba, asado, etcetera. Each viand is a mere forty pesos, and the taste is good. Shame that Cabalen.

Seems like you expected too much on the quality of Cabalen. I can relate to that, have experienced going to fully airconditioned restaurant with neat and nice table presentation only to found out they have no specialty or own recipe because their foods are the same in turo-turo.

This is so sad. I cannot imagine how the parents, the boy and the family at large felt about this

The family is quiet, thus far. It is sad but honestly, they brought it upon themselves. They have condescended and treated others maliciously. Right now, truthfully, I am indifferent to their feelings.
