Pigged Out

My daughter was given a five day Christmas break, a most welcome reprieve from the 360 days of her first year of residency spent with toxic duty at the DR or delivery room, one room she says she does not one to be in anymore.
Thus we planned for an exciting Christmas Eve and happy Christmas Day. The refrigerator was filled with ingredients for salad, spaghetti, chicken casserole, etcetera. Three kinds of cheeses, fiesta ham and kiat-kiat citruses all waiting to be consumed, and we decided to eat Christmas lunch at The Alley, where people devour food. Like Vikings.
We did not actually pig out as in eat like there is no tomorrow.
We did eat in moderation, as in one hakaw, one tukneneng, one Thai stir fry, two California maki, a steak, two sashimi, five calamare. And half a saucer of Japanese fried rice. The lechon bagnet? Oh, I wrapped a few pieces in a napkin for my doggy. There was also puto bungbong and ice cream. A blueberry cake. A frappe for one daughter. A salmon filling for the no pork/ no beef daughter. And two mugs of latte for me.
All right. All right. We did pig out.
But compared to all the others who ate like they were calculating the amount of the food they were swallowing, my daughters and I were not gluttons yet.
We did eat ever so slowly, we chewed and masticated for three hours, from 11 am till two pm, just enjoying the barbaric eating experience.
The holiday rate made it affordable for us, so we took our precious time.
Ahhh. Naaah. Admit. Admit. We were like pigs.
Today, my daughter reported back to duty.
The other one is checking out an old temple in Bangkok. She ate street food for supper, after a day without food.

@4gotss Oh no. Millennials are headstrong. When we decide on something, I end up being the child.

Happy New Year.
