Feeling Good About LAST YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS?

Why even start with NEW year's resolutions when there are LAST year's resolutions still not being followed?
Every year, after all the major holidays, I tell myself, I will save more money, lose more weight, be a better person and be more optimistic. It is good to have these goals but looking back to 2018, if 2019 is any thing like last year, all bets are off!
When you tell people, "I am going to spend less money wastefully, save for things I really do need and go on a diet and lose all those unwanted pounds," - Who are you fooling?
Those who maintain a daily regimen of strict adherence to a penny a day rule and the golden rule of treating others as you would expect them to treat you and do things that are healthy not bad for you, they are more likely to maintain a good weight, a steady state of mental health and healthy optimism, but ... and it is a big one, most of us fall into the category of do or die mentality and spur of the moment thinking.
We do this because for a brief moment, we are not under the spell of mass media's drive to make us want things we do not need, and can not afford, make us short sighted and the I want it now mentality and so forth.
You and I know that we are creatures of habits and it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks, so to speak.
This notion of "people who are fat tend to be that way no matter how hard they try to get thin' is a misnomer, a misconception and a lie. Anybody who has weight problems, emotional ups and downs and who are dealing with constant money worries, and stress with their spouse or siblings or co-workers, will have their own personal weight on their shoulders to bear it.
But, there are things that can be done to make it better.
I have read a book and want to recommend it to anyone who has problems dealing with stress, bad habits and so on. It is a book by Dr. David Burns MD and it is called Feeling Good.
I recommend reading this book or at least, looking at the link below to find out more to help you deal with dysfunctional thinking, emotional reasoning and so on.
Years ago my therapist recommended this book to me and now I am recommending it to you.

I am consciously trying to feel good all the time and I feel it is coming more naturally to me after so many years of conscious effort. I do not make any resolution, just try to stick to my discipline.
