We all searched through the water logged streets of the small town we ended up in. I'm not actually sure how we got there, but that we had to stay was no question. There was simply nowhere else to go. No way out of the town. It was either scavenge and rebuild or sit and wait for sickness and death. The majority of my group would rather have done that but it's something I wouldn't allow. Some of you went out in search of usable furniture, others in search of canned food. I stayed in what used to be the town hall with three others. We worked to find dry kindling and create a space that we could start a fire. The town would take months to rebuild, but we could manage it. I had already devised a flag that could be hung from the highest point in the town, a signal to any other stranded individuals. We'd need all the help we could get.
