Spiders don't like conkers !

I know that to many this will sound just like ' an old wives tale '….but I now believe it to be true …. So ...what is this all about …. It is often said that if you put a conker in each corner of your room ( any room ) they will keep away the spiders ! I am not sure that I was really a believer in such things as for every five people who say it is true there will be another five who say they have tried it and it didn't work ! Anyhoo ….This Autumn/Winter we have had some big …. and I mean BIG ….spiders...mainly in the living room but a few in the kitchen too …. We always have a lot of conkers that fall in the streets around where I live ( and I love collecting them anyway as I just love the colour of them ) ...so I thought I would put this to the test …. We put conkers in the corners of the living room and kitchen ...with a few extra in the living room …. And HEY PRESTO !!!! We have not had a single spider come into either room since. I am now a believer ...and the conkers are staying !
