Whenever we have company for dinner and salad is on the menu I have a little card table set for a make-your-own salad selection table. I know not everyone like the same thing in their salad and know that this way I do not have to worry about what I am putting in it.
I generally have a bowl of lettuce and a bowl of fresh baby spinach leaves and surround them with smaller bowls of all types of goodies they can choose from to add to their bowl.
I also add meat to the selection when the salad it the main food being offered, usually for lunch. I love my salad but I typically do not eat it the same way every time. My family got used to me doing this a long time ago and seem to love the idea.
Do you make the typical salad - lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers... or do you add other veggies and fruit to them?

If you are having people over that is a great idea to put things out for people to choose what they want in a salad. I have different kinds. Lately I had cucumber, tomato, olives and spices and mustand and oil in a salad and also have a salad of tomato and cucumber and red pepper and celery and tuna on top or mixed in with it.

That looks awesome... I like everything in the photo other than the mushrooms. For some reason, I just can't bring myself to like them no matter how hard I try!!

Mostly we make up the salad but when we have folks for a meal we put the dishes on the table and they help themselves to meat, vegetables, gravy, whatever.

I keep changing the veggies. Sometimes add nuts and sprouts
