Tonsillitis again?

Pretty sure I have tonsillitis again. I woke up yesterday with a sore throat, then a headache, right ear feeling sore and then bit of a runny nose. I checked my throat and can see it's a bit red as well as the right side being swollen. I took headache tablets which made me feel fine for a few hours but feeling the headache, sore ear and sore throat again now. Kinda funny to me actually ( not literally ha ha funny ) because I have quite a bit on this week like a wedding for one! And it's just the worst time to feel blah but I shall solider on. I've done this before and I shall conquer this again. .... .. I had tonsillitis last year too. Not sure what causes it though. I will be going to the doctor tomorrow to confirm it's tonsillitis but I'm pretty sure it is. I've had tonsillitis like 3 or 4 times now so know the feeling of it. I remember when I first had it years ago, my head was pounding. 2nd time round wasn't bad at all. Actually maybe this makes it my 3rd time. Not sure. I can't remember. But this time is almost as bad as the first time I had it. Have you ever had tonsillitis before?

It's been a while since I've had it, but I know that it is no fun at all. There is nothing I hate worse than when my throat is on fire!

@moffittjc I had a burning throat really early this morning and thought about you. ( cause I saw your comment on the day but was too sick to reply ) It didn't last long though thank goodness. My issues are mainly sinus blockage. So headaches and earaches.

@VivaLaDani13 I started out with sinus congestion, but it has now moved down into my chest. So besides the aching head, I'm also coughing my lungs out.

@moffittjc That made me cringe. Coughing ugh! Is just awful! Are you all phlegmy in the chest too? Karate chops apparently help loosen all that gunk there.

I used to get that as a kid - a lot. The doctors said I had to get my tonsils removed, but my parents refused. I guess I outgrew it - as an adult I never got it - sore throats yes - but not swollen tonsils. Argh - well I hope you feel better soon - and Happy New Year!!

@VivaLaDani13 Ah, well good that it was just the flu - though I know it still doesn't feel good. Hope it runs its course quickly - get better soon so you can enjoy your happy new year !

@much2say Thank you. I hope so too. It's a lot worse today though. I've lost my voice so thinking it's now Laryngitis.

@much2say I'm so happy you outgrew it! Turns out I don't have it this time. It's just the flu which has been so awful. I haven't had it this bad in years. But hopefully it will be fine in no time. Thank you very much and Happy New Year to you too!

I am so sorry. Do you know what is causing the problem? I had tonsillitis a few times in the past.

@LadyDuck Me too and thank you so much but unfortunately no. I've lost my voice and coughing a lot with sore throat. Going to have to go back to the doctor I like so she can check me thoroughly. When I first went to the doctor, I went to the one around the corner because it was more convenient for me but I'm not very fond of those doctors. They are some of the reason why my gallbladder issues wasn't taken seriously and they make you feel like they just want you in and out quickly. He did check my throat that day and just said it was a bacterial infection and that it will go away. But it's got worse since. But the doctor I like will do a full check up / examination and give me advice. Only difficult thing is, is that since I don't drive yet I have to walk there and back. 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back lol I don't mind walking otherwise but not when I feel like I'm dying lol

@LadyDuck Hey it's all good. I saw the doctor and he said it wasn't that. He said it was a bacterial infection / flu so I have that instead lol So past few days have been really tiring and awful.

Haven't had it myself (surprising as I'm a smoker) but know loads of people that have. Once you've had it a few times it's probably best to have them removed as it seems to come back often. PS...happy new year

@Mike197602 Hey you! Happy New Year! Always makes me smile hearing from you. How are you doing? It's been awhile since we spoke. Hope you're doing alright! Turns out it wasn't tonsillitis. It's the flu but I was still thinking about my tonsils. It's been either 3 or 4 times that I've had it. And I was actually thinking how many times you have to have it to have it recommended to be taken out.

@VivaLaDani13 happy new year, I'm good thanks. I think they say you have to have had it a few times in a year before they say get them removed.

@VivaLaDani13 I am very fortunate there that I have never had problems with my tonsils and I still have them.

@Hannihar Sorry about the other health issues. I wish this world didn't have any health issues. I'm amazed with how many illnesses there actually are. A lot I haven't even heard of before.

@VivaLaDani13 I heard it can be. Yes, I guess I am lucky that I do not have problems with them. Just problems with other health issues.

@Happy2BeMe Totally agree. Not fun. And thank you very much. Just chilling watching a movie and MyLotting. Not much that can be done right now anyway. And hey I like your new profile picture. Your hair looks different. Looks darker. Have you changed your hair or are my eyes playing tricks on me?
