My Resolve for the New Year, a Bit Late

My resolve is this, to write shorter posts. Actually, that's probably not true. I do try to put one in here and there but even when I begin that way it rarely sticks to being short.
My main resolve is to put away my games again, for the umpteenth time. And that is mainly so I I can clean my house on a regular basis, so I can study the Bible more, and so I can have people over to my house.
Like many of you, I don't bother with New Year's resolutions either because I know full well I won't keep them. But, putting away my games is something I've been working toward all year. Maybe one day it will stick.
I will write more, maybe about my plans but I know it will exceed the 150 word limit.
If I can keep...I can read all the entries.

What type of games do you play? I love to play BINGO.

Years ago we had a game we enjoyed on the computer, but I don't remember if we owned the game or if it was online. It was slinko, or slingo and a variation of bingo.
I mostly play facebook games. Solitaire social, and two different jigsaw puzzles. Those I might continue but try to only do periodically not all day long. I also started playing gummy drop a couple of years ago when I got my first tablet. All of them are facebook games although the latter has to be downloaded from their site, fish games, I do believe.
I can also sit at a table and play solitaire for hours but since playing online, I don't have to find my deck of cards each time.
I've not done any reading for a couple of years and would like to find time for that again too.

@Spontaneo I enjoy pacman but it's a bit harder to play on the computer so I don't bother. I used to have one of the original Nitendo's and had several games on that too. If I had mario brother's I'd probably get immersed in that too, but I've not played that in years.
I do have a set of games that is interactive for one person and there are puzzles included you have to figure out to get to the next level. Those puzzles work better for the guys and I don't like them, but I do like the game itself. Maybe, one day if I ever get all my piles organized and filed away, we can get that one out again. It's called Riven, or Myst, or Exile. I'll see if there's still a link online to show you what they look like.

I have never been good at short posts. I try to keep mine relatively short, but I could write a lot more
Many people prefer to read short posts. I read both, most of all it depends on the topic.
I like games. I don't have games on my phone anymore, but I often play games online for instanse word games and card games.

@MarshaMusselman I think that long posts can be interesting. When there is more information it is often easier to understand the things the person wanted to express. I like to write and I often have many things that I want to say, and I think that it is one of the reasons why I often end up writing a lot. Of course it also depends on the topic. If I write about topic I am interested I tend to write a lot.

I'm not that good at short posts either, and I was actually joking about wanting to write shorter ones. I read both and would rather read something of substance than something I have a lot of questions about after I finish.

@Porcospino Even when I think I'll be sharing just a little bit either in a post, response or comment, I usually think of something else that pertains and add that too. I'm sure I could leave it out, but who knows what I share might help someone in their dealings with another human person one day.

@MarshaMusselman Exactly. :) I do like to read longer posts. :) Time constraints keep me away. But I will be here with a bang, I hope.

Eh, I doubt that shorter posts will ever be my norm. It was hard sticking to that challenge format of only 150 words. As long as a longer post is spaced correctly I have no problem reading all of that too. Many people when they keep their posts shorter leave a lot of questions unanswered.

@MarshaMusselman I have noticed that people tend to skip long discussions. I try to keep mine as short as I can.

@LadyDuck There may be some here that skip longer discussions, but I get a lot of readers, so it may be more that they skip longer discussions for people they don't know very well yet.

Yes, well. Even my shorter ones aren't all that short, but that's okay. We're all individuals and comfortable with varying things.

Board games are fun too because you play with others and you can visit while playing. My kids do a lot of board games. When I get together with family like this past week at any opportunity we played a card game called smear which most of us enjoy. A few family aren't so much into cards anymore and sit and visit.
The younger kids play something called Dutch bliss. I played with them too. That's more of a challenging game and is similar to Duckies and Peanuts if you've ever heard of either of those. Dutch Bliss came from Canada. Duckies and Peanuts are played using normal decks of cards and each person playing needs their own deck. It's a form of solitaire, but everyone plays on everyone else's Aces. Dutch Bliss is built on that, but it come with four decks and it's a bit different.

Yes. I fully understand. Freecell itself doesn't draw me, but for whatever reason the facebook version does. It has things you can build and I think it's a way to draw people in.
This will be the fifth time since maybe summer that I've endeavored to put these things behind me. They are time wasters. There is so much more that I want to do with my life and never will if I stay stuck in this gaming loop.

I have no problems reading the long ones either. I especially hate it when people leave a few word comments that there's no way to know what they're talking about. I'd rather someone be a bit long winded and cover all the bases then make me ask questions and then not answer them later.

before my hard drive problems, i was addicted to playing various match3 games on an online site i found.

I have no problem writing about anything. Not sure if I'm spontaneous, though. Good luck on your health caretaking. Having some pastime is good just not too fill our days not stop.
I needed to write a few reviews and get a load of filling done. Plus I'm up to Oct on my bank info for the business. Maybe for once I can consider things way before the end of the month.

I used to write long posts but now I try to keep them short but not too short.
Everyone had their own style. I do like your detailed responses to my posts.
