Dinner is Done

Just got done with cooking and cleaning in the kitchen for dinner. What was on the menu you ask? Chicken fried steak, homemade country gravy, mashed potatoes, biscuits and black eyed peas. Yep black eyed peas again, hoping for some good luck this year. This was way too much for me to eat but you can see my husband's plate was pretty full. Yes that is melted butter on those potatoes and gravy. He couldn't finish it all. I really enjoy dinners like this. Makes me think of my Mom. She made this dinner combination a lot growing up. This gravy is delicious on biscuits too. Have a great rest of the weekend everyone. I am headed for the treadmill, then to the sofa and hopefully find a good movie to watch.

I love chicken fried steak, and this looks absolutely delicious. Not a huge fan of black eyed peas, the band or the legumes, but then again I have not tried yours so who knows? Maybe they are delicious.

@CarolDM Ooh. Now see, I have never tried incorporating bacon. I probably shouldn't with my salt restriction. But now you have my attention.

Your dinner photo is making me hungry and we just finished breakfast not so long ago! I fixed country ham, biscuits, hashbrowns, and had a couple of boiled eggs left over from making potato salad yesterday.

Enjoy your movie. That all looks lovely. We went to tin tin buffet tonight for dinner. I am not sure what I am going to make tomorrow but I was thinking of mashing up some potatoes. I have some avocado butter I want to mash them with, just to see how that tastes.
