Diary Thursday 3rd January 2019
A lot of online job searching today before preparing for a possible photo taking trip to Liverpool where there are still over 100 pubs that I know of to get photos of. My trip will depend on the weather though so I’ll be checking the forecast before leaving.
Diary Friday 4th January 2019
The weather looked fine, cold but dry. I set off early by bus and got to Liverpool about 10.30 am. I got lots of great photos, and not just of pub. A church I passed, St Nicholass's, had a car called a Lame perched precariously on its wall. A plaque told me that the car was of a design for a one seater vehicle for disabled drivers in the 1960’s. It was quite a poor quality vehicle compared to those coming later. The positioning seems to show that some disabled people can oar to unexpected heights despite people’s perception of them.
I went in three of the bars I saw, after capturing many more pub than I had on my list and with 67 till to locate. A bar called The Sanctuary Tap offered good looking food which was cheap and I may try some on a future visit. I took food with me for the walk this time.
I also called in Ma Egerton’s a pub attached to the Empire Theatre. The pub has had many famous performers drink there during show rehearsal periods; including Judy Garland, Laurel & Hardy, Frank Sinatra, Harry Houdini and Pamela Anderson among many others. The pub has a wall of fame photo gallery of the stars, many of who have autographed their own photos.
The similarly named Ma Boyle’s was my other stopping point, and though less famous, it still offered great service and ale.

I spent today catching up on my writings and editing my photo from yesterday.
