I just got luckier than my colleagues during our Employees Annual Party when I won a Stand Fan. Though I did not win any of the major prizes I have a lot to be thankful for having my name drawn out of the more or less 500 names, and there were only less than 20 items for raffle.

@florelway oh, i guess it's the new type that you have to assemble when you get home, unlike the old models? do you live close to your workplace?

@hereandthere, yes it's inside a rectangular box. My workplace is walking distance from home.

Yes, you are right, this thing is a necessity in our region because we are in the tropics.

Yes, you are absolutely right, this is a good alternative for airconditioner which consumes much power.

I haven't taken it out from the box and I have yet to assemble it so I cannot take a picture. I'm sorry.

That would be a lovely prize. You will love it when the weather is really hot.

i won a desk fan in 2004 donated by the son of our director of the hospital where i worked as head nurse.
that desk fan was so durable that it worked for 10 years. now, the blades need to be spinned with something so it will function. i gave it up now, but it is still in our basement

In our area there is this small store which sells parts for electric fan. These usable parts such as propellers etc. were dismantled from old fans. They sell at very cheap prices,
