The week begins quite beautifully here, with comparatively warm temperatures and sunny skies. I’m going to enjoy that! First, though, I’ll give you another great country song with the word “time” in the title. Here’s one that everybody’s heard of. #9: Funny How Time Slips Away - Billy Walker Just how iconic is this song? Acts such as the Supremes, BB King, Elvis, Al Green, and Bryan Ferry have covered it. A couple of country singers, too. The first version I remember is Billy Walker’s hit version. Okay, so maybe you haven’t heard of the song, but at least you’ve heard of the guy who wrote it..... What a great song, filled with pain and the promise of karma. One of Willie’s best. Funny How Time Slips Away Written by Willie Nelson Recorded by Billy Walker Released as a single, 1961 In time you’re gonna pay:

My dear late father said many of Willie’s songs are more “talking blues” than “singing,” given that Willie can’t sing.

@FourWalls We've said more or less the same thing about Willie.

Well, it is country music. How about Bryan Ferry's version instead? (@JohnRoberts have you heard this rendition?)
"Funny How Time Slips Away" is track 4 off of Bryan Ferry's 1974 sophomore solo album, 'Another Time, Another Place.' Written by Willie Nelson.
