The First Thing That Comes Into My Head

Random words, no time to really compose or think of anything so just using free expression. This is the literary equivalent of improv, or improvisation. I'll just meander along making up nonsense and it'll probably be just as bad as the stuff I plan out, and make notes for. Ooh, giving away my trade secrets now. Given how much food I had in over Christmas, seeing near empty cupboards again screams 'you glutton' at me. I should probably be rationiing like someone on a desert island or something. I have decided to improve my cooking skills, so I sent off for a cheap copy of a Delia Smith guide and watched a few youtubes today. I'll never be on Masterchef or The Great British Bake Off but it'll be fun improving my range a little. Random stuff over, for now. Arthur Chappell

If you're able to cook for yourself, hopefully you'll also save money.

@arthurchappell I notice a huge difference in my docket if I'm buying staples - flour, sugar, eggs, etc - than if I'm buying packaged biscuits or whatever.

I like to cook and it's a lot less expensive than buying ready made food. I am sure you will be pretty good.

@LadyDuck I expect I won't get too ambitious - not likely to advance to making wedding cakes

@arthurchappell The important is not to start with too difficult recipes.

Most of my posts are random and improvised! I think it's why I can't get on with writing the novel we all have inside us. I can't bear the thought of editing and rewriting as it needs to be what comes out of my head at that particular moment.

@Poppylicious editing and rewriting is the hard part of the creative writing process - too many writers skip on doing it properly
