My right ear and temple hurt

I think I know what caused it. Last weekend I took a bus trip to Sydney, Cape Breton Island. It is located in another part of my province of Nova Scotia Canada. (About a 6 hr drive) I went there by bus and spent the weekend with my daughter who lives there.
The whole of Cape Breton resembles the Scottish Highlands, as it is a mountainous region and at a higher elevation than Mainland Nova Scotia. After crossing the causeway from the mainland to the island, the trip to Sydney is mainly uphill. That means I did a lot of ear popping along the way. I don't chew gum so I had to use my jaw to pop my ears when they became plugged. I think I sprained my jaw while doing so and it became inflamed. My ear and temple are now feeling the effects. 
All in all, I had a wonderful visit with my daughter and it was a very delightful, scenic trip.

@Happy2BeMe I had an aunt who lived and worked in Inverness that I would visit every so often during the summer when I was a child. I remember travelling around the Cabot Trail with my parents. It is very scenic. I would relocate to Cape Breton in a second if the economy was better than it is right now.

There is an ear drop by a company with the name of simalasan or something similar. It "Ear Ache Relief drops" and is a homeopathic type medicine. If your ear continues to ache you might consider getting that.
I have ear problems all the time.
