In our country very few families go for home schooling or home education. One of the reasons is because we are not able to get jobs if we do not have a formal school and university certificate. But I have heard that home schooling is very common in some countries. Can these children go to University later on. And what about job opportunities. Isnt formal education necessary for job? We don't have this except for children with special needs. ideally education also teaches social interaction with other people.

I always prefer the old method of school education where we learn to interact, share and a lot of other activities in school which is not possible with home education.

In my country there are home schools already in existence and they are being recognized by the government as legit when they have successfully completed their education. Although they are not commonly known by many. Mainly because of the price only the rich are usually able to afford. The masses have not yet fully accepted it as a way to educate their children.

@mayka123 It is recognized in my place. And there are a few of them that are offering their services to a few students.

@rsa101 it's good that it is recognized? How popular is it there? People still prefer formal education or is home schooling becoming the preferred option now?

I wish home schooling is recognized everywhere so atleast those who who cannot get a formal education in a proper school for any reason will be able to learn at home and the education is then recognized.

Here in the Philippines, there are some children enrolled in home schooling. It would be tedious fro moms to home school their children because they too would also teach or f=guide their child in his/her home schooling. But mostly here go to school.

Everything is monitored. Children do get their diplomas, and they are able to go to college.

@just4him Thats good. Even though I like the old method of formal schooling I sometimes think that if home schooling is recognized then those who are not able to go to a formal school can get themeselves educated at home.

@mayka123 You need to report that you are homeschooling your child.

Home schooling could be good for a short period, maybe, however children needs to interact with others you cant isolate them at home

I knew of a couple who home schooled their kids throughout because they felt their kids would get spoilt if they went to school. These kids would never behave well at parties and would always be trouble for the hosts!!!

Here it is not allowed to have home schooling. Every child must go to a school to study. And like you said, the certificates are important and they are not only a piece of paper.

Here too home schooling is not given any importance later on when we go for further education or when we look out for jobs.

I do not think that I can take my kids through home schooling. I'm not a good teacher

Depends on which country you are in and what are the future options available for home schooling.
