Excuse me, do you mind?

Is it my impression, or the people (a good number of them) becoming less and less educated? Words like "please," "excuse me," "thank you" are falling into disuse?
Sometimes I think everyone is just looking at their own needs and forgetting that they live in collectivity. So everyone needs everyone at some point in their lives.

@WiseGhots That's good. People remember whether you say these things or not.

We have moved towards an entitlement society.
I recall the cold war years and also the time when many countries were colonized.
The present generation thinks everything was handed over on a silver platter.
We need to be grateful for the sacrifices of past generations.
Yes, we are becoming more flippant, selfish, and arrogant - siva

First of all love the picture of the guy there. Yes, I see that a lot here that people do not know how to say please, thank or excuse me. When I am on my scooter I see a lot of it because I will let people by and they do not thank me so I will say something and they still do not answer. So when someone thanks me I am speechless and so surprised that someone thanked me that I forget to say you are welcome at times.

It is important that people respect each other properly in a society and that depends on the way you are educated by your family partly and partly by society. since we all expect others treat us with respect we should do the same to others. this is a two sided matter. The problem is we don't see the society as a whole, instead every one is concern to the self.

I'm lucky, I live in a city that has a military base in the middle of it and one thing I have always noticed about military brats is that they are taught manners but once in a while I do come across some rude young adults that simply push everyone out of their way.
