Read me a story

I will be laying down soon for a little nap, but I had not been here yet today, so I must spend a minute or two.
I have a new little luxury for me. I downloaded an app that is supposed to pay me for reading. It also has an option for listening.
It does not pay very much, and I do not know how to claim my money when I have earned enough, so I do not know if it is legitimate.
HOWEVER
It is so soothing and relaxing when some Irish or English lass is reading to me. I can just go to sleep. I admit there are others that are a bit grating to me in their phrasing, but all the readers are volunteers.
The stories/books are not new. They are all in the public domain, but I am enjoying them so far. I am in a book of English fairytales right now. Each chapter is read by a different person. I listened to The Secret Garden first. Such a treat.
I am going to go let my phone read me a story. You have a good afternoon.

It is. I used to read to kids (step grands, great nieces) at my brother's house and all the adults would come listen.

It will be nice if you do end up getting paid! I bet I would totally nap while listening like that. What are some of the titles you listen to?

I started with The Secret Garden as I always watched it on television once a year when young and read the book once. I loved the narrator. I am now in a really old book of English Fairy Tales--forty two stories. By a variety of narrators. Ten to fifteen minutes per story. I know they have The Picture of Dorian Gray and they announce often that all the recordings are in the public domain. I even think it would be fun to be a volunteer reader.

Browsing through I see Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass that I will be sure to listen too. Lots of fairy tales from many countries, but one I will really want to listen to will be Flower Fables . The introduction says it is the first book written by Louisa May Alcott at 16, for Emerson's daughter. It will be fun.

@GardenGerty Both my husband and I are sensible to electromagnetic radiation, we use our phones only if really necessary.

I had tried audio books in the car and did not like them when I drove. This was fun as a passenger, as hubby does not talk to me. He cannot hear me when the car is going.

I hope you can figure out how to get paid. Though I'm glad you're enjoying the app either way.

With all the other stuff going on in my life, I am willing to wait a bit to find out about payouts.
