Today I ran to Salem to Petsmart and decided to check out UGM Mission Restore before heading home. It's a thrift store with really nice items they sell to help fund the Mission. I found a new store I'll be tested on my minimalism.
Everything I bought was thought about the need, want and reason. I bought a huge VTech car loader for my 15-month-old grandson, complete and plays music for $2, a vintage blue glass pitcher I'll use as a vase, a hard back flip page photo book to help my grandson with Down Syndrome identify words with photos, a nice Jack and the Beanstalk book for my granddaughter's reading assignment, (she wanted to read this as part of her book report), a brand new pair of Nine West Jeans for $5 and a Tommy Hilfiger purse still with price tag for $6.
OK, the purse wasn't a need but the purse addict part of me that kept saying, "It's a Tommy purse for $6!! You have to get it!" So, I bought it.
To justify, I have to give up another one of mine. I took it upstairs to my daughter's closet where I stored several others. She isn't a minimalist so I can use her to let go and later she can give away some if she wants. Actually, being a minimalist is what makes you happy to have in addition to needs.
I'm a Tommy Hilfiger and Michael Kors fan though I can't afford them.
Did you find any bargains lately?

I need a purse too. That is a smart one you chose.
I don't hoard but am not a true blue minimalist. Clutter is bad

@responsiveme Many were bought from thrift stores, gifts, sales etc. I never paid more than $59 for a purse and only did that with gifts cards given to me.

That is a great discount. I enter sweeps and giveaways too. I just won the Rose Colored Glasses bracelet from Ronaldo Designs. It's gorgeous and sells for $120. I am so excited I have two higher quality items this week with one a huge discount and the other free.

It's a very nice purse. There are some by Michael Kors that I like, because they are similar to the leather purses by the Italian "Bottega Veneta". I have two that are gifts of clients of my husband, I would never spend a thousand dollar for a purse.

I could never spend that for a purse either even if I was wealthy. I have one Michael Kors I got from my daughter-in-law. I had a Coach once from a friend who won two but I never cared for the style and eventually let another friend use it. She still has it.

You certainly found some wonderful bargains. Getting that pretty purse certainly feeds the soul and at that price, would be a steal.
I haven't looked for bargains, but will be going shopping during the week - for necessities and anything that catches my fancy.

@DianneN I want to go back to some stores this week and see if I can find some things I need. I have a time finding shoes to fit me at good prices. Long ago, I could find some good shoes at Payless and JC Pennys. Now all have heels, look funky and don't fit well. My arthritis makes wearing clothes shoes a challenge. I need soft and no heels. Someday I'll find a store that has some great ones at a good price. Back in CA there is a place that will make shoes for you. It's pricey but I may just go back and do it this summer.

I've found some great things. I have some dragonware and it can be pricey but sometimes I find it in thrift shops for cheap. I found a cup and saucer with the Geisha girl in the bottom of the cup for $4. They can be sold for much more so that was a bargain.
