Do you buy your cosmetics blindly?

Not only women, but also men I know, make a common mistake of buying and using wrong cosmetics, relying solely on their brand value. Just because a cream's advertisement promises to do away with wrinkles in a few weeks, people end up buying the cream without checking if the product is suitable for their skin or not. Not all of us have same skin - some have oily, some dry, while some have normal skin. So a product which may prove effective for a particular type of skin may not be suitable for other. What do you think?
