Saving Change

I came across this video on YouTube. This couple have two site where they show how they make money by dumpster diving and making money reselling at flea market, ebay and finding gift cards with money still on them. In this video they took all their change to one of those sorting machines and got hundreds, no thousands, of dollars in e-cards for Amazon. If you know the machines I'm talking about, if you request the cash they take a percentage, but if you ask for a gift card you get the full amount. I wondered how long it took them to save all that change or whether they found some of it in their dumpster diving. Others were curious as well but it doesn't look like the answer comments. You may not want to watch the whole video but look at how much change this couple had!!! I save change but I cash it in about once a year and don't have more than $100. How about you? I'm sure everyone saves their pocket change. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaOuKhYFUkg

I save my change... I always look for lucky pennies on the street. I wonder how much is lost on any given day?

Many years ago I was walking down the street and I found a whole slew of dimes on the road. I've also found dollar coins. Most of the money I find these days is in the laundry. Anything in the laundry is considered mine.

I used to collect pennies, too, but as you know, they don't exist anymore.

Hubby saves change, leaving it lying around everywhere. He looks for certain coins, but will not cash in the others. It is said that the average household has about $90 in change in their house.

I don't think we have that much... on second thought, Canadians have $1 and $2 coins which we put in a separate piggy bank. We might have that much with that, but not with just dimes, nickels and quarters (no pennies in Canada).

I think most people just use their debit or credit cards these days. Not too much loose change around anymore.

I have a jar that I save my change in but like you don't have much more than around $100 when I cash in. I'll have to watch this as it sounds interesting

It seems it would take a lot of time and many many dumpsters too accumulate that much.

My coin jar probably has about $200 in it right now, and my penny jar has probably another couple hundred bucks. But I go one step farther and save my dollar bills too. I'm just crazy like that. It has definitely paid off over the years, let me tell you.
