Could you speak lower, please?

I don't know if you are or know someone like that, but have you talked to someone who - naturally - has a very loud voice? Well... I was at the grocery store tonight and the cashier was talking to me like I was down the hall (when I was actually close to her). It was a very strange situation, so... I ended up asking her to speak lower because I'm not deaf (well, at least not yet, haha!)

I have friends like that and I love that they are loud, and the more happy they get the louder. It don't bother me.

I know quite a few people like that. I have a very hard time with loud talking especially in smaller places like the car or in my home. This is why I don't have certain people in my home anymore or at all. If you are known for being loud, you are not welcome in my home. My pets and I love our peace and quiet.

Maybe the cashier had hearing problems herself and can not gauge whether she is speaking loudly or softly! Some people just like to be the centre of attention. Lordy I would have told her to calm herself down a tone or two!

" Some people just like to be the centre of attention" I think it was her case.

One of my friends does this too, and I always feel bad when I have to tell her to quiet down. But she practically yells everything. It's not that she means it, somehow that's just how her voice comes out.

There are people who are like that and it is a good thing to correct them gently...and make them aware that they have indeed a loud voice...much easier to tell it to small people like me than those big and tall ones like our past boss...lol...
