This and that . . . . Car "accident" and sleep cycle

Hello everyone. I hope your week has been better than mine.

MONDAY
I got a text from my mom saying that she had to take her husband to the ER. He slipped on some icy steps and broke a rib along with a bone in his back.
Now for those that have read my previous content, you know that my mom’s husband hates my guts. So it would be safe to assume that I would get a little tickle of happiness from hearing that he was hurt but actually, I was concerned. I even asked if they needed anything or if there was anything I could do.
Along with all of this, the roads were pretty awful when taking my uncle to work. We slid in a few spots but I made it there and home without too much trouble.

TUESDAY
I’ve been doing my grocery shopping on tuesdays instead of wednesdays. It’s just easier because we have more things to do on wednesdays and I don’t have to rush through my shopping, often forgetting items that are on my list.
I also found out that my friend has to get a hysterectomy and I may need to help her with her care along with taking care of her 3 kids so I really need to switch my sleep cycle up. I may need to stay up for over 24 hours that way I’m super tired when my daughter goes to bed for school and then just go to bed at the same time.

THURSDAY
Dinner at my sisters. This time it was my dad’s turn to cook. Well, his wife cooked and honestly, I don’t even know what it was. It had a bunch of veggies, some hamburger, whole tomatoes and some kind of weird tasting gravy. It wasn’t the worst thing she’s ever cooked but it definitely wasn’t the best.
The night wasn’t too bad except for the fact that once my dad, his wife and her grandson showed up, my sister wanted to give me an attitude but she forgot that I will give her one back. So then she asked her boyfriend to talk to me about giving her an attitude and I told him that he needs to tell my sister to grow up and act like an adult. She wants to give me an attitude for no reason but expects me not to retaliate?
Her boyfriend then informed me that my sister giving me an attitude was more over me “deactivating” my netflix on their tv. MY netflix on their tv. So I told him that since it was MY netflix, I had every right to do so especially since they don’t pay me to use it and it was intended to be used mostly for the kids. Not my sister, her boyfriend and my oldest nephews nurses. That’s probably what caused most of it because I know two of my nephews nurses are always talking about what they’re going to watch on netflix after everyone goes to bed.
So because I wouldn’t sign back into my netflix so they all could watch it, I wasn’t invited to play cards with everyone else but once my dad asked if I wanted to play, my sister piped in saying that I was probably tired and Richard would be taking my spot.
Whatever lol. I played Wii with the kids so I had fun. Playing cards while my dad’s wife’s grandson talks loud and pretty much gives away her hand is not fun in my book.

FRIDAY
2:30 am, guess where I was. In a snow filled ditch.
While taking my uncle to work, it was a whiteout. You could not see 5 feet in front of you, not to mention there was probably an inch of ice under the 2 inches of snow on the road, making it pretty awful conditions all around. Add 30 mph winds and yep, I ended up in the ditch. Not even a ½ mile from leaving my small town.
So I called my stepdad who is the co-owner of my car. He has AAA but I am not listed under the account, nor do I have a card to show that we have AAA. Well, I called him 15 times and he didn’t answer.
What was I to do? I called my dad and I felt awful for doing it but he was at our car within 20 minutes and after looking at everything, he called his AAA who ironically was only a few miles away pulling out another person who was stuck. ETA was 40 mins.
My dad waited in his car and we waited in ours. While waiting, my uncle kept saying that it’s a good thing the ditch had a lot of snow in it or else I would have flipped the car and taken out the pole that ended up only being maybe 3 feet from us. Not exactly what I wanted to hear while I was trying to figure out how much the tow was going to cost and how much it was going to cost to fix the car if there was any damage. Since I put the car in the ditch, it was my responsibility.
When the tow truck showed up, so did a police officer. He took a look all around the car and then asked for my license. I’ve never been pulled over for speeding or anything like that or had an accident while I was driving so I was assuming that he was writing me a ticket.
Then when the cop handed me back my license, he told me that there’s less than $1000 in damage so he didn’t need to fill out a report. Agai, not exactly what I wanted to hear while I’m still trapped in my car. Thankfully, there is no damage to my car. My wheels on the driver’s side have a bunch of mud in them but there are no dents and the car is still driving really well.
From start to finish, it took a little over 2 hours from the time we got stuck in the ditch to the time we got home. I hope that I never get stuck in a ditch again. It seemed like it was so much longer than just 2 hours and my uncle ended up having to call in. Something he had been talking about doing the night before but then the morning of, he wanted to try to get to work.
My lesson: If I don’t feel comfortable driving, I’m not going to. He can find his own damn way into work.

I hope so too. I'm cooking dinner on Thursday for my dad and I have to figure out what to make. He likes anything I cook but I'm also going to get him a thank you present for coming to help us out.

@Happy2BeMe I hope so. I'm going to make Chili with Zucchini in it. most of my family are big zucchini eaters lol and it does bring out some of the flavors in the chili. I'm also going to make Spice Cake Cookies (Cookies made from cake mix lol) and a chocolate cake cookie.
I wasn't able to get him a gift as a way to say thank you for helping us out because when I was at the store, I was in a rush to get what I needed and get out because of an impending snowstorm that's supposed to hit us tonight.

Yeah I don't plan on it. If I can't see the road, my uncle can find his own way to work.
