This is a pic of the Roman Coliseum, a great place for entertainment in classical times, with gladiators fighting, sometimes to the death. Now, much of it is gone, including outside marble which was taken for building of churches later. According to our guide, no Christians were killed here. That was done at the Circus Maximus, not far away.
