How long should a hug last?

A few days ago, I was reading a very interesting article about the ideal length of a hug. The article said that the minimum time for the hug to become effective was 10 seconds (helping to heal possible discomforts and offering a sense of well-being).
Of course the effectiveness of this can't be scientifically proven, but I think 10 seconds is not the kind of hug you give everyone... Am I right?

@1creekgirl Are people perverts if it lasts 11 or 15 seconds? The only bad hug is one that is forced on someone or they won't let go.

We're huggers around here (well, most of us) and for a casual, so glad to see you! hug, I think ten seconds is a little too long. But with my family, a hug could last several seconds.

I cannot tell if the article is right or not. I think 10 seconds is not enough but it depends on how long the people need a hug for I would say.

I usually do casual hugs less than 3 seconds and I already feel awkward, lol..
I read somewhere that longer hugs are good for the heart.
