I love to work in my garden, this year I was unable to because I injured my back at work. Next year I would like to have a rose garden even if I am unable to work in it. I am supposed to be paid by Workers comp but they are investigating my claim. Workmens comp is supposed to be a benefit of your job,but God help you if you are injured. I would go back to work today if I could walk and was not in so much pain. Ia anyone else having problems with Workers comp?

I have been on workman's comp before and it was a nightmare. They had the audacity to come to my hospital room while I was in traction and tell me they were cutting out my benefits because they felt I could get up and go back to work. I had only been on the program 6 days and was still in the hospital! I had to hire a lawyer and go to several hearings. It was all a crock to me. The attorney made money and so did everyone else but I made very little. I would never send them another claim unless I was forced to.

The vegtable garden - The kids planted this , this year and had corn, 4 watermelons and some carrots. the tomatoes came up a little late and then froze. The had so much fun planting it and harvesting.
Yes, i love working in the garden. My kids planted a vegtable garden this year and they had so much fun doing it. the best was pulling out the carrots and getting the eras of corn off there stems.

I remember when I was young helping my parents in the garden, one day we ate all the peas we picked. It is a good thing for your klids to get involved in the garden.

Get Well Bunny...waiting to eat your garden deligh - Get Well Bunny...waiting to eat your garden delights!
I have never had a wokmens compensation claim...thank God! I am aware that they make it very difficult to collect but it's likely due to other people cheating the system: ( There are many things you can garden/grow indoors too. Like hanging tomatoes or strawberries. As I suggested as a comment, herbs are great window growers too. Even flowers will bloom indoors if gardening outdoors is not an option for you. Hope you feel better and get back in the garden soon!

You can both start indoor gardens too. Herbs are a great garden variety to start indoors and then, if you wanted, they could be transported to an outdoor garden later... or you could just create a window garden, where the herbs hang just outside of your kitchen window. They are accessible when you need fresh herbs for recipes.

You asked 2 questions in this one : ) I love to garden too-- I love my flower beds-- They are alot of work but they are so pretty- I can't wait for the snow to melt and the flowers to start popping up- I cold do without the weeds though : ) We also have a huge vegetable garden each year-- I love this too- This is alot more work-- But there is nothing better than running to the garden and grabbing fresh tomatoes or cucumbers- YUM.. I hurt my back through my job years ago-- almost 10.. and I had to fight tooth and nail to get workers comp to deal with me-- I had to go to their doctors once a month-- In the end the state sent me back to college-- I could never go back to my line of work-- they paid me and all is well-- So chin up- I hope things are better for you now- I see you posted this 4 months ago!

Oh dear I've just realised this discussion was posted 5 months ago hahaha! Well I hope by now you've had your claim sorted and you've been paid what is due to you!!! And hopefully now that the weather is getting better you are able to get out in your garden! I'm sorry to hear about your back problems I really do understand what that's like as I suffer badly with my back from time to time, mind you since I went to a reiki healer my back problems seem to have disappeared. I tell no word of a lie it has helped me so much, have you ever thought of going to a reiki healer, I thoroughly recommend them to you. anyway good luck in your garden

Hi suscan, You gotta love how these discussions work...You posted this thread before I was even a member but since someone else responded today it has come to the top again. I hope your back is healing ! I have never been down with a back injury but my mom lives everyday with back problems. I see how she suffers most days so my heart goes out to you. As for the rose garden...I love flowers but I definatly don't have a green thumb. I see some peoples grarden and I get very envious that I can't keep a weed alive. They say everyone has a talent, Im not sure what mine is yet but I know it ISN'T gardening!! Hope all is well with you, Take care
