I received a wedding invitation from an acquaintance and I’m not sure if I will be going because when I saw the people in the list, I feel like I do not have the guts to be with these people. May not be the wealthiest individuals but the people to be there are businessmen, some local political executives in the region, professionals and other people who have names. Although, most of the family members and relatives of the person to wed knew me, the other half don’t. I’m just an ordinary individual and I think I’m no way comfortable being together with these people.
What’s your advice please?

you can treat this is an opportunity to meet your idols (those you admire in that prestigious guest list), let them know what you appreciate about their accomplishments. i guess it's partly networking, too - gaining contacts in case you need to go to their offices in the future.

@ZedSmart just act like a superfan, maybe a selfie, maybe a business card or ask for their assistant's name. but don't make it obvious, of course. hahaha! it's a wedding after all so keep it light and sociable. hahaha!

Why you are not comfortable with them?

@ZedSmart One thing I will do is to go to the venue and it is time for me to go out and make some more friends.

@jobelbojel Thank you. I think this is more on social events and these people are selected and are well known on their field and chosen profession and I feel like I do not belong.

I would say go to the wedding. You don't have to meddle with the guests during the service. Then you can leave afterwards.
