So today was a lot of watching things about older celebrities. I watched the recent Celebrity Big Brother in spite of my disappointments in the last few episodes on CBS All Access. and got the pleasant surprise of seeing Gallagher a silly old comedian that my late hubby just loved to watch. He smashes watermelons and other food with giant hammers and such. you wouldn't think so but, surprisingly this is quite funny. He was on the episode as a remembering/ observation competition .
John and I saw him live, went to his show in Vegas way back when he still had dark hair
and the front of the audience was given plastic shields to raise to protect your hair and clothes when he was ready to smash something. I was surprised to see the house guests wasn't given those
anyway, have you ever seen one of his shows? Most people today probably don't even know who he is. and he now has my color hair whitish.
Next I watched youtubes channel on "Celebs who let fame go to their heads" mostly because of finding out about one favorite that I was disappointed with the other day. Kind of wish I had not done it. as I found out another one I dearly love that used to be such a good family man took a bad turn in 2012 becoming quite the rotten cad. Johny Depp
What ones have you been disappointed in? any?

I saw Gallagher twice and met him once. He was quite a jerk when I met him. I was also sadly disappointed — but in hindsight, not really so much — when I met Bill Murray as a celebrity golf tournament. He was NASTY. In contrast, the much bigger star — Kevin Costner — was a sweetheart.

@FourWalls aww that is so disappointing. Bill Murray is so funny how terrible that he was so nasty in person

Kevin Costner does seem pretty down to earth.

from that report it was said she was the one that filed domestic abuse against him and he soon filed for divorce because he had been having an affair with a younger woman he wanted to marry and he did end up marrying.

@bunnybon7 The first wife was French Vanessa Paradis and she never filed domestic abuse against him. She always said that he has never been abusive, read here.
Vanessa Paradis has reportedly defended Johnny Depp in a letter calling the allegations of domestic violence "outrageous".

I've never seen him live but I do remember Gallagher and his watermelon smashing antics. He was quite funny.
I'm not really into celebrities so none have disappointed me

we had several VHS tapes of his performances. because for some unknown to me reason, John thought he was quite the funny guy. myself , not so much
never understood the concept of smashing melons and such.

James Stewart, he seemed like such a kind man. Plus he was a General in the Air Force reserves. I love flying, and most of Stewart's movies, even the Westerns. For a time Stewart was the number one Western star in the world. I had a pilot friend who ran into Mr Stewart in his later years, washing his Piper Supercub on the ramp at Van Nuys Airport. My friend talked to him a bit, and Stewart told him he had owned a Cessna 310, (Like Sky King flew), but it got to be too much for him, so he traded for the Super Cub, one of the greatest bush planes of all time, slow, safe, and meant to be a pure flyer. He seemed so nice to me.
Later in life, I heard Stewart was an extremely racist Republican conservative. Harry Morgan, who was a close friend and co-star in many movies, turned out to be a vicious wife beater in real life. I don't know who to believe or trust.

i see what you mean. i wonder sometimes if they start out one way in their career and getting into different characters over time causes them to loose themselves along the way

I have never heard of him. Very neat you got to see one of his shows years ago. I didn't hear that about Johnny Depp. Had to know what to believe though people make up a lot of lies about celebrities.
