Day 28 Acts 16 Acts 16:1 Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek: 2 Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium. 3 Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek. 4 And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem. 5 And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily. What do people know about you? Do they know your parents? Do they know your character? Do they know where you come from, city or country? People are private today and tell people as little as possible about them. Paul and Silas traveled to Derbe and Lystra where they met a young man known to everyone. Timothy had a good reputation among the people. Because of his faith and because of the Jews and his lineage, Paul circumcised him before Timothy would travel with them. Then Paul took decree from the elders in Jerusalem to the people of the cities he traveled to and told them the decision of the elders regarding circumcision and daily rituals. As Christians, your testimony allows people to know you and where you came from when you were in the world. How you conduct yourself after you present your testimony will show people the truth of your new life in Jesus Christ. Your faithfulness will allow people to trust you as you work to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to those around you. Let the light of your salvation pave the way for your work in the kingdom of God. Let’s pray: Father, let my testimony be a light in the world, a beacon in the darkness so others will see You when they see me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. I am happy to find a person who presents a Bible study on this site. Today's teaching, based on Acts 16: 1-5, is the testimony of the believing son of God, who must shine as a luminary in the midst of darkness' for the progress of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the advancement of the kingdom of God in the world. Well done. Congratulations. YHVH God bless your life and work activity.
