Diary Wednesday 6th February 2018 A trip to the barbers to shed my heavy winter beard, with good timing as there was no one to queue behind. My face felt very cold when I went out of the barber’s shop. I had a lovely phone call chat with one of my friends, letting her know arrangements for my birthday meal on Saturday. Diary Thursday 7th February 2018 My new monthly bus ticket starts today, covering all my local travel up to 6th March. The first journey was to my dreaded welfare hearing but this time my advisor just aid she was happy with my job search activity and waved me through to Mid-March. I thought I’d call in the library for a few hours before the job club activity only to find the library closed so I headed home. A neighbour surprised me by finding a newspaper article about the recent visit to Preston of the Wetherspoon’s pub-chain owner, Tim Martin which I attended. A national newspaper, The Daily Mirror, covered the event and I am plainly visible in one of the photos they took there. Diary Friday 8th February 2018 With my birthday tomorrow this was the last day I’ll ever be 56 years old. I gave a talk on my cult experiences to about sixty social work students, which went very well. I got home and prepared for my birthday visit to my city of birth, Manchester, for tomorrow.
