MyLot: What do you think about "one line" discussions?

Write a lot... Write little or... Write very little? That is the question. Particularly speaking, I like to put my discussions under a previous context (because I think this way things get more interesting to be read) and not just ask questions or stimulate a debate going straight from the point. However, at the same time, I see no problem if discussions that have one or two lines are objective enough to sustain a conversation. After all, writing too much and not saying anything isn't worth it.

I'm not keen on really short posts even if they do generate a lot of discussion. I like to feel a bit of effort has been put into posts and that they're not just churned out one after another.

It all depends on my mood, but I don't ever make a decussion with one or two sentences, they can get deleted if they are that short.

This is another reason for not doing that.

@WiseGhots yeah so if I see a new member doing that I will tell them to make the post longer.

I prefer a little more than writing just one line but we are all different.

Not many discussions can have any substance in one line.

Liked Judy, I prefer posts to have some thought put into them - one liners haven't done that. I just write what I want to say without regard to the length, then I may prune it a bit if I think it's too long,

@WiseGhots I think if it is a short post or a long one does not matter just so they are getting the point across in one or two sentences is fine.

I DO like to keep my posts as short as possible since MOST people will see more than a few paragraphs and be discouraged to read or participate. It's just the nature of a site like this. People ENJOY reading posts, but honestly do not want to spend a lot of TIME on a post. So, keeping it short, just a few quick paragraphs is best. THAT being said, I think most posts should be more substantive than just a line or two.

You can say things of value with a few lines. I like to be broad and I go a little longer, but trying to be as correct as possible. I agree with the last thing you say, it's definitely not worth writing too much and not saying anything.
