The answer to this question is not one that I know ….
I guess that I could Google it …
Whatever the reason for their strange name I really do like them .
I have started making some on a Sunday morning and getting them cooked in the oven whilst the Sunday roast is cooking.
Scotch eggs can be eaten warm but I think mostly they are eaten cold.
I usually take one to work for my lunch with some salad on a Monday ...or have it for tea with salad when I get home on Monday after work.
Once cooked they last for several days in the fridge and they are perfect to snack on.
So, how to make a scotch egg ….
( my slimming version )
Hard boil an egg
remove the skin from 2 low fat sausages and squish the sausages together
after removing the shell from the egg wrap the sausage meat around the egg....cook in a medium oven for 30 - 40 minutes.
serve hot or cold
yummy

But where's the outer bit, the breadcrumbs?! It can't be a proper Scotch Egg until it has the breadcrumbs!

I am doing Slimming world so I don't use breadcrumbs or any other coating..... That's also why I cook it in the oven and not deep fry it x lol

@Traceyjayne I prepare cous-cous when I make Moroccan dishes, but I would not use it to coat Scotch eggs.

They sound really easy. I'm going to try one as they have always appealed to me.
