My 6 year old was invited to an ifly birthday party. Which ifly is an indoor skydiving where there is a wind tunnel. At first my son was like yes I’ll do it and went through getting dressed the in class training and got to sit down and wait his turn. As I watched the first 2 kids go, I could see him start tapping his food and getting scared. I signed to him to relax but his anxiety got to him. He did go in for like 3 seconds when asked the second time because the first time he just shook his head no and then let someone else go ahead of him. I’m very proud of him for going for going in for just a few seconds.

He tried! He says he never wants to do it again but he might change his mind in a few years. He gets scared easily.

@amitkokiladitya not always. Just because yorubscared of something and coastline exposed to it they doesn’t mean you will get over the fear of it. That’s not how fear works. Fears is a human repose to protect one’s self for harm. I’m scared of water but I matter how many times I get in the pool the anxiety it brings never goes away. My 6 year has lots of anxiety he gets that form his dad who has anxiety disorder and takes medication to help him relieve that anxiety.

At least he is still trying and that is good that he control his fear when he do that.

He didn’t control his great he started to cry the second he step into the wind tunnel. He went into sensory overload and had to come out. He just says the rest of the time. He did try and I told him afterward that at least you went in for just a few seconds and that’s good. Maybe one day you will really do it.

@ShyBear88 I am sorry. I think the same principle can apply to his friend's concern.

Fear isn’t always something that can be over come like it’s a switch to turn on or off.

@ShyBear88 I would be very proud that he knew he did not want to go again and could say so. He tried it and he knew it was not for him.

Yes he did try which was great. I wished he wanted to do more and would have enjoyed it but it’s not for him.
