Normally, residents are only allowed to stay in the shelter for 30 days, unless they are mentally or physically disabled and have been homeless over a year. I fall into the long-term category, but my head still rattles everytime there is a changeover. The Grumpys are leaving this week. Two older gentlemen that I could not stand when I got here, that have now become quite close to my heart. I'll never tell them this, just like they will never admit they rather liked it here. Or that the color purple will always remind them of me, the crazy girl with the purple hair. The tide goes in, the tide goes out.
