This evening our 6 year old son shared with us that he got bumped up to a level blue in reading which is good. Now his big sister started crying saying it’s nto fair that he got to move up to a level blue in reading and she is at a level orange and red. She reads two different levels every night because she has dyslexia. My husband asked her to go to her room so he could listen to our 6 year old read. I came out of the bathroom to her crying and I asked what happens. My husband I sent her to her room because she bus her brother when he is trying to read. Okay not a problem. I told her she wasn’t in trouble but she started crying about how it wasn’t fair. I explained to her that he is stronger at reading and spelling and she isn’t. She is better in math and science. Of course her feelings where hurt and I told her she will get better it jsut takes more time and practice it just doesn’t come easily. I know it’s frustrating mommy has been there lots of time. Continuing to encourage both!
