Do You Try To Sleep ??

Last night I was very tired.Lay on my bed and tried to sleep, but sleep remained elusive till late night.
Today I came across an interesting article about sleep.According to the writer, if you want to sleep,don't "try" to sleep.This is because you sleep only when you stop trying ,when all attempts cease ,when you are completely relaxed.
At the end of the article he says,you have two options : either you keep trying to sleep or fall asleep.
Do you agree with the writer?

@dya80dya I agree with you .Sleep can't be forced ,but is it possible or ,at least ,easy to stop all attempts.You would have to make an attempt to stop attempting.Am I wrong?

@Shivram59 No, you are not wrong. To stop attempting means that we accept everything that will happen. If we sleep it's fine. If we don't sleep it's also fine. We stop attempting to sleep. And I have to say that this is not easy. I tried this.

@amitkokiladitya That's the question I have been asking to myself since I read the article in a Hindi newspaper.We lie on bed, thoughts come to our mind ,how can we stop them.And even if we want to stop them,we would have to try.How can we stop making all attempts?

@Shivram59 You don't have to stop the thoughts. You just let them be. To stop making all attempts means that we accept each thought that comes. We say: this is just a thought. It will come and go, like a cloud.

Yes when sleep has to come, we need not make efforts. But sometimes I do also feel restless and not able to sleep properly.

I pray before I sleep, it relaxes me and I fall right to sleep. =)

@franxav I am a late sleeper.My mother sleeps early at 9.30 p.m.sharp,but when she is stressed,she can't sleep at her fixed time and keeps changing sides till late night.Her body refuses to follow the timetable no matter how much physically tired she is.

@Nevena83 I neither agree,nor disagree with the writer.The writer has a point.The question is, is it possible or easy to stop all efforts ? You would have to make an attempt to stop all attempts.
