Making Hamburger Jerky....

in the air oven/fryer using the dehydrator settings. Not sure how it is going to turn out....it's gone the 6 hours the book recommends....and still pretty wet (greasy). The recipe I got online says 7 to 12 hours though. Have you made jerky yourself? What kind of meat would you recommend for making homemade jerky? Not sure I am going to like the hamburger jerky.

I love the hamburger jerky seasoned right. In my dehydrator I leave it at least 24 hours. More does not hurt it but makes it drier.

Maybe I need to work on the seasoning! Oh wow that's a long time....you have an actual dehydrator? Maybe I should have got one of those instead of the air fryer, lol....I'll give this jerky a while longer...thank you for the feedback!

Never heard of Hamburger jerky, and not sure this is something I would want to try. I prefer usually Beef or Turkey jerky the most. It takes too much time to make it yourself even though we have tried it.

So far, I am not sure I am going to like the hamburger jerky....but it is still dehydrating so I don't know. Oh yes, it does take a long time! So, is it really worth it...that's a good question!

I have never made jerky but my boyfriend has. Around here a lot of people make deer jerky. @sharon6345 explained to me how she makes hamburger jerky so maybe she can give you tips if you need any.

@MommyOfEli2013 there are so many hunters around here and deer are plentiful so that's why they use that. I've heard deer meat is delicious but being a vegetarian I do not want to find out.
