Yesterday we bought a water purifier at home. All these years we had adopted the boiling method for purifying the water for drinking. Now, at new home, underground water is available. So water purifier becomes a must for us. The electric water kettle already stained with this water and we realized it is really important to get a water purifier. Yesterday, after fixing the water purifier, on drinking the purified water, we realized how horrible taste of the water we earlier drank. The taste is distinguished easily. How do you clean your water for drinking?

Actually I do not believe in water purified (to be very frank) so adopted the method of boiling. Earlier home the Jal board water was available which was good quality one. So nothing there was to worry. But underground water, we can see the white coloured lines on utensils.

@arunima25 We used to drink Well water without boiling. When we were children there was no water motor and we fetch the water from the well manually. We drink it directly without any fear. But situation changed now and one has to apply some purification method before drinking the water from Well.

@Sreekala we all grew up drinking unsafe water and nothing happened. But now things are different and we need to take precautions.

Water quality in my are is not good one. We are depends on Punjab for water. Punjab is mixing sewerage water in canal and river water. This water have many heavy material even, uranium. We are here getting drinking water from PHED. They are purifying it but it is not enough. I am also using candle base water purifier for some years.

Contaminated water is a problem for all cities, who are depending on water coming from outside. We also used to that contaminated water occasionally. The problem will be high in summer season.. Considering that, ground water is safe.

What is your source of water? I mean, where do you get water for the use, outside or your own source at home like Well?

@Shivram59 I think your water must be safe without using the purifier. However, prevention is always good.

@Mavic123456 Why it is costly in your place? Here it is according to the usage, if you cross the limit of usage then the bills also will be doubled.

Water is tasteless and smellless object, I don't drink even if I get smell in water. We have purifier since years; and if you are new, then be sure; when the coal is changed, it should be purified first before putting in, otherwise you will taste coal. Also Purifiers have to be cleaned regularly (6 months).

That's a good one you purchased because it has a UV rays that will kill most bacteria; we also have one that has two sets of filters; one ceramic tube and the next one to make it alkaline and to remove chlorine and other impurities, and bacteria. It is cheaper compared to always buying purified water.

Buying water is costly especially in summer time. Since our water is ground water there may not be chlorine content. But I have seen some white content, I am not sure what it is but I feel it is some kind of soil. It stained utensils when I boiled water for drinking. I took much time to clean the electric kettle we used for boiling the water. Now this water is not staining any utensils.
