What a Soapy Surprise

I may or may not have told you but two years ago I fell down the stairs and hurt myself quite badly. I ended up having plastic surgery on my right shin, damaged my left knee and I'd lost quite a bit of blood by the time I got to hospital and ended up having two blood transfusions. I had worked as a self employed digital typist through an agency prior to my fall. I received legal and real estate dictation from the agency via the internet, I transcribed it and returned the documents to the agency, again via the internet. Unfortunately, following my accident I couldn't sit for long periods of time and I had problems operating the foot pedal so I jacked it in. Adam, my other half, thankfully had a Royal Air Force pension but I'd always been independent and told him that I'd have to earn money somehow so I started registering with online survey companies. Over the last couple of years I've learned which pay well and which pay peanuts so at least I can now pick the best of the bunch and, by doing so, I'm able to afford to buy myself and Adam a few treats once in a while. About a month ago I did a survey which paid me £1.50. It involved completing a survey about how I washed my dishes, what dishwasher products I used, etc. At the end it said that I MAY receive some dishwasher detergent to try. I'd forgotten about it but I was just making my afternoon cup of tea when the doorbell rang. It was a delivery man who had a parcel for me. I'd ordered some grass feed, eco slug pellets and some organic bug killer over the weekend from Amazon so I assumed it must be one of those items. I must admit I was surprised that it'd arrived so quickly but, believing I knew what it was I put it to one side I sat down in the lounge with my cuppa and opened the parcel up to discover 75 dishwasher tablets (exactly as shown in the pic above). I've got to try them out over the next 12 weeks and, at the end of it, I'll receive £5 in my Paypal account! On the subject of surveys, I recently completed one aimed at cat owners. I got £1 for doing it but was then invited to an online community of cat lovers. I'd be set tasks and, if I completed all of them over three weeks I'd receive £25. My latest task is to buy four different cat foods and I'd receive a further £10 if I took photos of the food packs and a receipt. I'm due to get the food tomorrow provided my supermarket has them in stock but, even if they don't have them, I'll still get my £35. It can take a while to get going with surveys but once you get yourself out there you can make a nice little income. I'll let you know what I think of the dishwasher detergent. Not sure if I'll be using the dishwasher tonight as I have some Quorn veggie chicken pieces in sage and onion gravy with some vegetables left over from last night. Nothing goes to waste in our household!!!

I've signed up to loads but now, after two years, I know which ones pay the best rates. Univox is quite a good one. It's a US based one. You initially need to get 2,500 points but once you've done that you can then cash in at 1,000. They normally have between 15-50 surveys a day. If you don't meet the criteria you get 3 points and if the survey site has already had enough people with your statistics then you get 4 points. I can usually get 1,000 points (10 USD) every couple of weeks.

@olliesmum I will have to check that one. I like one called paidviewpoint. It can take a little time to get to 15 dollars. But if it says you have a survey you get at least 10 cents. I dont know if it would work for you or not.

I don't know what they are but they look very much like Finish tablets. Don't know whether they'll tell me at the end of the survey.

Some survey companies aren't too bad. I have a few favorites myself.

I love doing them. I've now got into a routine of doing them from about 6.00 in the morning until my partner gets up at about 7.30. I then start again around 9.00 and work through until lunchtime. I've recently received a cheque or £50 which I need to pay in. I'm not mad by the way, I don't need much sleep and I'm always wide awake before 6.00!!

Good thing I didn't do that survey, we never use our dishwasher! I did try doing surveys a few years ago for some extra pocket money but it didn't work for me, I wasn't eligible for most of them because I don't do most of the things they seem to want to know about! Glad it's working for you. Everyone needs to feel they are earning something I think.
