Does your mind usually play tricks on you?

Listening to the cell phone when it didn't play, seeing someone on the street who is identical to someone you know (but who is really just a lot like him / her), dreaming about unusual situations and so many other "games" that our brain can bring.
Has this ever happened to you?

I looked in the mirror and saw an old man. I thought it was a mind trick. No, it was harsh reality.

I have tinnitus, so I hear quite a few “ghost noises” when my ears plug up.
(Ha, you were just trying to get me to say “ghost.” I see what you did there!)

I hear ringing and odd noises that no one else hears sometimes.

@cindiowens — that’s tinnitus. When I first went to the doctor for it I told him, “I know I’m not crazy, but I’m hearing noises.” He assured me I wasn’t crazy (well, not related to this, anyway
), and the VA even had a tinnitus coping skills class!

My mind tries to pay tricks on me, but I'm way smarter than that.

Yes, I might say a few times, and it was hilarious! I think once I was desperately seeking something that I already had in my hand, and when I realized, I was like how fool i am!
