Looking at the Caribbean

I am South American, I am Venezuelan, I am from the Caribbean, I was born in the capital city of Venezuela, in Caracas, located in the central region, relatively far from the sea. But I grew up and became an adult on the northeast coast of the Caribbean Sea, in a small town in the state of Sucre called Rio Caribe. I have fed my soul contemplating the sunrise and the wonderful twilights that the Caribbean sun gives us. With a woman from these lands I formed a family that today is composed of five children and seven grandchildren. There are so many things to say to support the fact that I am a man related to the sea and what is in it, which in one way or another has influenced my way of being and doing. I am not a consecrated artist, my training has been basically self-taught. I have not elaborated monumental works nor I have exposed my work in great galleries, but in the practice of the artistic abilities with which God has endowed me I have realized many small works with which I have been able to enjoy the cultural fact, the life and the earthly existence . The piece that I share through the photograph that illustrates this publication reflects a little the influence that the Caribbean Sea has exerted in my humble artistic work, it represents the pelican, bird that lives in our beaches. It is painted with acrylic paint on raw red canvas, its dimensions are one and a half meters by one and a half meters and I have titled it 'Looking at the Caribbean'. It is part of the collection of a friend of mine and now occupies a privileged place in his house. Do you have any artistic skills that you have not developed in a professional way, just as a hobby or are you a consecrated artist and famous in your country? Tell us.

Thank you, Jo Miller, for your good response. I have my moments of agitation, but regularly I live quietly, I do not feel overwhelmed, I do not despair, I move calmly ... I am at peace with God, with my environment and with myself ...
