First night with my dad home. :)

In my previous post I spoke about my dad coming home. His girlfriend did come and she will be staying with us for awhile to help out. She is at work right now so I am just sitting in the loungeroom with dad. He is having a sleep on the lounge. My dad recently was given a box set of 20 Abbott & Costello movies so I'm just watching them ( he was watching too but fell asleep ). Abbott & Costello Goes To Mars just finished now so will find another one to watch. I'm learning whatever I can to help dad out. Like what foods he can have and shouldn't have. Also will take note of when he has to have tablets or insulin. He was never on insulin before all this happened but has to now. I don't think this will be a life long thing. We will see. Every time he has it, I turn away lol As some of you know I struggle with OCD. It's had phases where it's been really bad. I would say I am a heck of a lot better than I was years ago but I still have certain things I feel I have to do when I'm stressed or worried. So I already know I will be doing certain things for awhile with dad home. Even though I have my dad's girlfriend around to help, I'm still a bit anxious with how things are with him in regards to his foot and overall health. I had trouble sleeping last night. A few times I woke up randomly and walked out into the hallway and stood there for a bit. Kinda like checking to make sure things are ok. I was just a bit unsettled. But other than that I am very happy he is home. He is as well.

The best you can do is to check what food is the best for him. Food is so important for our body. I know you are doing your best and I know this helps a lot your Daddy. Take care.

@LadyDuck Thank you very much. Luckily he has a pretty good idea too on what he is allowed to eat. I think he learned a lot while he was in hospital. He had enough time to learn anyway. 4 weeks is quite a lot of time.

@Happy2BeMe They are going quite ok so far thank you. A nurse is sitting in our lounge-room talking with my dad right now. Talking him through what to expect, when to change his foot dressings etc. And his girlfriend is making him dinner and I just finished doing some laundry. It's all happening lol

@Plethos Yeah it is. I'm kinda sure it won't happen again but terrified I will find him how he was when this all started. When he was having high fevers with bad chills. Was just scary to see.
