I think this word sounds like what it means, which is isolated. Philia is Greek in origin, meaning love.
I describe myself as a social introvert. I used to think I was an extrovert because I've "never met a stranger" (as Mom used to say). I've always enjoyed people, either talking one-to-one or in a group situation.
But- I also remember that I absolutely needed my alone time, even as a young kid. If I didn't get it, I'd become emotionally exhausted and very irritable. I'd get "peopled-out". The same is still true now.
Please share something about how you deal with alone time. Do you require it to feel your best?

Since I am now working only on my PC and writing every day I am constantly alone but I do not mind. I like my own company and I have two cats to keep me entertained. The problem is that liking my isolophilia I have to force myself to go out at least twice a week for the exercise and fresh air. And you know what? I have my mistakes checked by Grammarly and they did not recognize this word.

That's good that you enjoy your own company @RasmaSandra. I do too.
Many of the words I post are ones I find on the internet. I usually do look up their origins, just out of curiosity. Thanks for your comment.

@BloggerDi I think it is fine. I can think more without any distractions.

I understand that feeling @JudyEv. I used to feel that way often, but now I usually have a good balance of me time and social time. Thanks!

You're welcome and thanks for your comment @fluffy69. Some of the words I share are slang terms, some Old English, various sources. Ah the wonders of the internet!
